I agree that stricter worldwide laws should be placed and reinforced appropriately. Pollution is having a greater impact on our earth and it seems there are little to no consequences for polluting. Mistakes will happen, but if there are stricter guidelines and consequences for breaking these rules there will be less pollution and more accountability. Submitted by Allan.
Oil pollution and water pollution have caused negative impact not only on people' lives but also our environment. Global warming is a serious threat to the earth. As for Pacific Ocean, since the oil spills occurred and the water pollution is getting more serious, Us government has signed the law called Oil Pollution Act to prevent pollution in the Pacific Ocean. I agree that government should enforce stricter laws and penalties to protect Pacific Ocean as well as our world. I also think that people should know their responsibility to protect the evironment.
I agree that we need stricter laws to help with pollution. Pollution is endangering many different species. In order to keep them safe, pollution laws would help. However, I am not sure exactly how these laws would be enforced. Sometimes oil spills can be accidents.
I agree. we need to enforce laws to help with pollution. many different animals are being affected by the increasing rate of pollution ( thousands of otters ;P) and there needs to be laws in place to protect them..... Brianna
I agree that we need more strict laws to help with polution. People, animals, and the environment are being affected by it and something needs to be done. Veronica.
I agree, we forget about how bad this problem has become because we dont live in the ocean. We dont have to see all this trash on a daily basis. But I think all of this is going to change soon. Tons of trash and debri is making it's way over from the tsunami that took place in Japan last year. I expecting this to have an impact on America's in a never before seen way. -Jennifer
I agree. There must be more effective international laws to protect the oceanic environment ant the life in the oceans. I still can remember the BP disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, the long lasting effects of this damage to the environment. Perhaps, other types of pollution have had similar impacts on oceanic environment. This is a very interesting topic.
I agree. The ocean yet not lived in by us is a home for many other animals. The ocean and its condition have a big impact on the condition of the earth. There is too much pollution world wide, starting by protecting out ocean may make a big influence. submitted by jessica
I agree that stricter laws should be enforced to protect the Pacific Ocean against pollution. Ocean life is being destroyed because of the way the ocean is being treated so carelessly.
Agreed! There much more to say, you did a great job in your first speech talking about the problem. This is the clear cut way to address it. It'll turn out to be a solid speech.
I definitely agree, many countries have already set laws in motion in order to preserve or world but America it seems hasn't gotten on the band wagon yet. This is a very good topic, looking forward to your persuasive speech! Monika
I don't think you will find any strong opposition to your thesis. It is definitely true that we should enforce stricter laws to help with the pollution in the Pacific Ocean and to sustain the environment. If we don't do anything now, our children will have to suffer and leaving them to deal with all the bad things that we see coming is very irresponsible. - Noreen
I agree with this statement, especially the fact that the ocean is 75% of this planet. We're going to kill off species, and we have no right to do that just because of human laziness. - Jamie
I agree but would regulations vary depending on the location/region or would they be the same throughout the world? Is this just on the surface or we should also regulate all depths?
I agree. while like breathing air, the Pacific Ocean belong to no one. But polution from the Pacific Ocean can eventually reach a sovereign territory such as the U.S., Russia, or China. So stricter laws against the Pacific Ocean,in the long run, would prevent main land polution. Duc Pham
I agree 100% and think that these laws should be abide by certain businesses that throw away waste that could possibly pollute the ocean. i.e. plastic pop bottle holders to carry a 6 pack of pop at a restaurant.-Anna
