Arshin's thesis

Between organic and conventional food, you should choose organic.

  1. I agree. While my wife likes watching this show and I am a parent of two girls that love princess things and who have participated in fashion shows raising money for charities I don’t agree with the values and how this show portrays these girls. This show is giving these girls a false sense of identity as body image and beauty are more important than who they are as a person. Are the parents pushing their children to participate based on their social background (not being accepted when they were younger) or are the kids wanting to participate in this? Submitted by Allan.

  2. Allan ,I am not sure which show you are talking about but my thesis is about choosing organic food instead of non-organic. :).... Arshin

  3. I disagree. I think that you can find the same nutritional value in Non-organic food. i will need to be persuaded into spending more money on organic food rather then Non-organic food......Brianna

  4. I’m not sure if I agree that people should by organic over non-organic. I was in Safeway last week and I saw that organic beets, the size of a mandarin orange, were $3.49 each. I think that it is outrageous to charge that much for produce. I feel that if people can’t afford to pay this for organic foods, then non-organic food would at least be better than not eating fresh produce at all.

  5. I agree with Laurene. I think if you can't financially afford purchasing organic foods it's better to buy non-organic than nothing at all. But if you can afford it that's good, but it's not true for most citizens unfortunately right now. VM

  6. I am not sure. Organic may be a bit pricey for some people as it doesn't have a long shelf life.

  7. I agree, onganic is the nautal way to eat. People ate organic for thousands of years and they were healthy. Pesticides and other chemical I think are to blame for many of our health problems. These health issues could be reversed by eating only organice foods.

  8. I agree. When I watched the movie Food Inc., it made me scared of everything I eat everyday. Organic food, in another hand, is good because it does not contain chemicals. However, organic food is expensive and many people refuse to buy it due to people's financial condition.

  9. I am not sure whether I agree with this statement or not. Organic foods are more expensive than regular foods. I do not obtain a lot of knowledge on this topic but I have heard that organic foods contain less preservatives and pesticides. I need to hear more credible facts in order to decide if it is worth spending more money in order to purchase organic.

  10. Since I work at a grocery store in the produce section, I am keen on what you have to say about this topic. I hold no side to this issue, but see pros and cons on both sides. It will be interesting to hear which of this you choose to support your argument. Looking forward to it!

  11. I agree, my mother has been teaching me this for the past 5-7 years and our house is almost completely organic, when I eat junk like mcdonalds I end of revisiting my meal 20 minutes later. I am very interested in how you are going to persuade everyone about this topic!

  12. Honestly, I am not sure which, organic or inorganic food, is better than the other. After the informative speech I know more about each of their pros and cons but the decision is not made yet. I think you can perhaps put yourself in different people's shoes, for example, from a housewife's point of view, a college student's point of view, a working single's point of view, etc. That way you will see more of the reasons why they may or may not support the consumption of organic food. - Noreen

  13. I don't know if I agree with this thesis. Many people eat non organic foods and have no issues. Yes organic foods maybe better for you but many people in this economy can not afford to buy it. I dont know a lot aboutthis topic so I look forward to hearing your next speech

  14. Great. But me, as someone on the opposing side, organic is promised to be only at least 95% organic when the rest doesn't have to be. If not 100%, i don't trust it. Perhaps FDA needs to pass where it has to be 100% organic in order to call it "Organic". Rat Poison is 99% safe for you, but that 1% is whats bad therefore falls under poison. Just an example

  18. I disagree. I think that so far in life the antibiotics that you mentioned are in un-organic food haven't caused that big of a problem for other antibiotics that help cure us when we are sick. The cost for organic foods is much to high if it will not improve our health that more or make a major difference.-Anna

  20. I disagree with your opinion, it's little expensive.
Price takes fist priority for me. We all have each opinions, like some focus on price and the other focus on safety. Shuntaro

  21. I tend to agree but I have concerns as to the validity of some of the claims of the organic food companies. Basically if it's all really effective or just a fad to get us to pay more for certain foods.
