I agree that police brutality is on the rise and is a big issue. Police officers are taking matters into their own hands and crossing the line of the law. Better education, stricter guidelines, external review processes, etc. need to be put in place along with cameras monitoring behaviors. Submitted by Allan.
Police brutality is happening in many countries, especially in Asia. If you watch the news in TV, you can see there are many scenes that police beat, abuse, harass people. I think everybody has their own right and it should be respected. The idea of using cameras may be considered as a good solution for this issue.
I agree that police should use tasers and cameras instead of brutality. Like you mentioned in your informative speech, sometimes police use physical violence on someone who is innocent. If the person who was mistreated survives lawsuits could become involved. Cameras are an especially good idea since they will keep police officers honest.
I agree that police should use tasers and cameras insead of brutality, to an extent. In an unsafe city I would say not because it already has high crime so that would not help. I am going to need to be persuaded more. I am looking forward to hear your speech. Veronica.
Yes, I think it's a great idea. Your first speech got me so fired up, police brutality is out of control. Especially here in Seattle. I dont care if you wear a badge, you need to follow the same rules as everyone else. That means you cant just shot someone who is not threatening you in a life or dealth situation. The govenment protects these murderers and just plain wrong. How can an officer beat up a teenacge girl on CAMERA and still not go jail. It makes me sick! Tasers and cameras would greatly decrease the number of dealth and would also uncover abusive/dirty officers. -Jennifer
I agree. I really like the idea of have a taser as the first weapon of choice. Also, having the camera on the police office is a more affective way of really seeing every thing that goes on. Submitted by Jessica
I agree that police brutality is a problem. The solution however should not only involve cameras and lasers but more punishment for the officers that are intentionally wounding people without cause.
I completely agree, one of the things that really get under my skin is when the people who has decided to step up and protect us and are supposed to be doing what is right, completely slip the switch on us and abuse their power. I am looking forward to your next speech! Monika
I agree with your thesis. I especially think that tasers should be very useful in taming suspects but the only question I have is if that's the case, why don't all police carry them now? And for the cameras part, I think it's just one way to stop the police from taking advantage of their power and if they don't do anything across the line, they really have nothing to worry about. - Noreen.
I agree on the cameras but I think the focus should be on police training and punishment. The police force has a brotherhood mentality so police brutality would decrease if such actions are frowned upon as a group.
I agree, i think this would solve a lot of unknown answers to stories that the public is unsure of what to believe, and that tasers would save a lot more lives for things to be answered, however i do also think that policemen should have a gun because not all situations are unsure if they are in danger or not.-Anna

ReplyDeleteI agree. Taser guns are great alternative to real guns. It subdues a criminal, protects the police safety, and no one dies in the process.
