Yes, i agree the U.S government needs to enforce social networking laws. the increasing rate of social networks and the more available they are becoming is amazing but there are those who abuse social networks and use them to hide behind and bully. though there are laws to stop the abuse of social networks they do need to be enforced more heavily .... I'm in the same boat as Jessica. There is no way to make sure these laws are abided by. The government can make laws, but i dont think its going to solve the problem. Its just the nature of social networking, as long as social networking is around, there will be cyberbullying SUbmitted by Spencer
I agree that laws on cyber bullying should be enforced. I know a young girl who has recently been bullied both in person at her school and on the internet. It hurt her so deeply that her parents are now home schooling her. I am unsure, however, of how these laws would be enforced.
I agree, those sites are unregulated. They have proven to be dangerous many times. Bullying shouldn't be tolerated, at school or on the internet. -Jennifer
I agree, social networking websites have theirs positive and negative sides.In fact, we can see how much those social networking impact people's lives. However, the question may ask in this case is that how can we control it.
I agree when it comes to the safety of our Children and Information Security. The social networking websites became a place for some to do cyber-bullying, humiliating others, inappropriate photo sharing, etc. Government could pass laws to make social networking websites safer. This is a very interesting topic.
I do think that social networking is a problem when it comes to cyber bullying but I do not agree that enforcing laws is the best solution. Is it possible to make laws specific enough so that one has a clear understanding to what is unlawful? Which also leads me to the point of control. Cyber bullying happens everywhere so how will it be monitored and what is a reasonable punishment?
Something must be done about cyberbullying, you did a great job of convincing us of that matter in your informative speech. I'm not sure if enforcing laws will fix the issue, but it is a great start to regulating social networking to make it a better place to converse with friends.
I completely agree, I have seen cyberbullying happen multiple times and I have been a cyberbully before. I find it totally repulsing now to see and very excited to hear your next speech! Monika
I agree social networking has been seriously affecting the lives of everyone nowadays. Laws should be enacted to stop people from exploiting and taking advantage of social networking but I think it should be more of a measure of precaution than one that will really suppress the freedom of speech. -Noreen
Having been cyber-bullied last year I know what kind of an impact it can have on some one.. I also know that the people doing the cyber-bullying dont really care about what kind of laws there are. The way some one explained it to me was.. there is a law against underage drinking but how many high schoolers and people under 21 drink? Although it is very frustrating how insensitive people are as long as social networking and communicating through the internet or texting is around people are going to be a lot more daring and hurtful with what they say. I think a better solution would be teaching people how to deal with being cyber bullied
Great! I would think to talk about the first ammendment since this is something that those who oppose this view use as proof. Perhaps how it doesn't violate the first ammendment? -Naomi
I agree with this thesis if it's talking about cyber bulling. I would add to the end, "to prevent cyber bulling" or something because it sounds a little too broad. - Jamie
I disagree! Because parents are suppose to protect their children, not the governement! Even though I believe bullying is wrong and it is a big problem, it is our own responsibility to make sure our kids don't bully others and vice versa. Also, kids need to be educated on how not to take things personally and learn to protect themselves.
I agree, however I think that with the internet there are a lot of ways people can get around and behind these rules so i can see enforcement being weak or non-existent.-Anna
